-=Compatibility Note=- There have been reports of conflicts with MMM, FOOK, CRI, and Wasteland Mammoth; Which makes me sad, but is ultimately unavoidable and is as much other authors fault as much as my own.
-To avoid conflicts with any mod that changes loot lists, 'withammo' entries and 'cond' lists (FOOK, MMM, and CRI), you need to have the 20th century E.V.I.L. plugin (.esp) near the bottom of your load list (below mods like FOOK, MMM, and CRI)

-=Compatibility Note=- It has been brought to my attention that MMM and XFO are compatible so long as MMM.esp is above 20thcenturyE.V.I.L plugin (.esp) with XFO.esp below the 20thCenturyE.V.I.L. plugin (.esp).

20th Century ALIVE Explained: (Current v3 and above)
------------------------------------------------------------
20thCW v3 contains 1 master file (20thCenturyWeapons.esm), and several plugin files.

The Master file contains ALL ADDITIONS to Fallout3;
The Plugin Files contain ALL CHANGES to Fallout3;

Additions = New weapon entries, sounds, shells, ect.
Changes = Altered existing SuperMutant, Raider, NPC, Talon, Regulator, ect. spawned loot lists.

You can use 20thCenturyWeapons.esm WITHOUT any ALIVE plugins with 0% chance of conflict between other mods.
However, without the ALIVE plugins, the weapons WILL NOT SPAWN on anything or be available in vendors.
If you don't use any ALIVE plugins, you can still add in your favorite weapons with console commands, and unselecting any ALIVE plugins will not remove any collected 20thCenturyWeapons (unless you unselect the 20thCenturyWeapons.esm).

EVIL Explained;
------------------------------------------------------------
Versions 2.0 and higher include a master file (20thCenturyWeapons.esm), and several plugin files (20thCenturyEVIL);

E.V.I.L. represents the function of the plugin file(s)
~AKA; (E)ncounters, (V)endors, (I)nteractions, (L)ocations;

EVIL Light ONLY into Vendors (will appear after 3 ingame days)

EVIL Bland adds into Vendors and most NPC types (NPCs will immediately begin carrying them upon spawning)

EVIL Extreme adds into Vendors and most NPC types, and removes chances for vanilla equipment to spawn (for the die-hard 20thCenturyWeapons user).


Troubleshooting EVIL is fairly easy if approached in the following way(s):

1) If you're not finding 20thCW in Vendors (after 3 days) and NPCs, you probably need to move your favorite EVIL plugin LOWER on the load list (loading last is optimal).

2) If you are encountering conflict with another mod that you simply *cannot* do without, you can:
2A) try using a lighter version of the EVIL system.
2B*) not use any EVIL plugin at all

*- EVIL PLUGINS ONLY CONTAIN CHANGES TO LOOT LISTS/EQUIPMENT SPAWN TABLES; Unselecting a PLUGIN will merely cease 20thCenturyWeapons from SPAWNING!
~Unselecting a plugin will not cause you to lose your hard earned 20thCW weapons, and you will always be able add your favorite 20thCenturyWeapon in through console commands.

[Q]-Is this mod CALIBR Compatible?
[A]-Yes, and any future weapon packs (19th and 21st century) are planned around CALIBR. Stop asking.

[Q]-Do these weapons replace anything?
[A]-Only to add itself to the SpawnTables/LootLists for Combatants (raider, mutant, ect)

[Q]-Where can I find some of these weapons?
[A]-In testing the alpha and beta versions of this mod, I could find them nearly anywhere.

[Q]-Describe 'Anywhere'
[A]-Any NPC, Raider, Talon/Regulator, Brotherhood/Outcast, Enclave, or Supermutant has a chance to spawn a '20th century weapon'.

[Q]-I can't seem to find any weapons in .50 BMG! HELP!
[A]-IIRC, .50 caliber weapons won't spawn on any character who's not level 16 or over. The .50 BMG weapon are incredibly destructive, so expect their appearances to be very rare.

[Q]-Gimme the console add commands!
[A]-Ugh, no. I'm not transcribing the console commands of over 100 seperate weapon entries.

[Q]-Over 100 weapon entries! What gives?
[A]-(4types) x (8calibers) = 32 entries x (4variations) = 128. there are normal, silent, scoped, and silent with scope variations for each weapon. That adds up to over 100 weapon entries.

[Q] Well, how am I supposed to farm equipment or stockpile ammo? You better not say 'legitimately through gameplay'; I have a life to live! HELP!
[A] I will not supply individual weapon or ammo entry console commands for any reason; The good news is that they are not necessary. Through liberal application of the console commands 'Setlevel X' (where X is the desired level) and resurrect (to make the dead live again), you can farm endless amounts of 20cent firearms and ammunition from a single critter (depending on what you want).
-I recommend a behemoth if you can find one, but they are not necessary;
-FYI - Supermutants will never spawn pistols or SMG's (or even use them if they are available), but supermutants are one of the few NPC types that carry Bigguns to farm.

[Q] Uhh, I have some *MAJOR* griefs with this project involving realism; I mean, you *are* aware that the AS-50 (by Accuracy International) is a semiautomatic anti-material marksman rifle and not a .50 BMG assault rifle, right? And that there is no 3 round burst on a M82Barrett or M1Garand, and when has the M1918BrowningAutomaticRifle ever been scoped or silenced?
Are you mad as a hatter?
[A] I'm well aware of the AS-50's role in real life and some of it's limitations; as well as some other discrepancies between real life and the game version of some versions of the included weapons. This is not a realism mod, it is a mod that seeks to give the player a variety of leveled armament; so I chose not want to penalize a stealthy or sniper player merely because they moved into a higher caliber/damage category.
-I could drown all the current complaining over what 20cent adds with my own torrential downpour of criticism over the variety, flexibility, and general representation of all firearm groups in vanilla. Vanilla firearms and projectile physics were both lazy and a little silly; I was not happy and set out to change that.

[Q]-OMG! these weapons are too overpowered!
[A]-I spent alot of time working on weapon balance (see readme.txt for full weapon stats), and your enemies have access to them too (before you do I might add).
While minor changes are planned, damage is not something that is likely to change. I've found the challenge and reward to be appropriate, and .50 BMG weapons are rare enough to be really scary when they are seen in the hands of an enemy.

[Q] Why am I downloading an .esp with everything and not an .esm containing what's been added with an .esp containing any changes to loot tables? Are you just lazy?
[A] No, I'm not lazy; I set a deadline for myself of release on or before april 1st, 2009. I wasn't thinking about how much I was adding vs how much I was changing. Expect the first update of 20th Century Weapons to take a little bit; I have to completely rebuild the mod from scratch to separate what I'm adding from what I'm changing.
Thanks to Tubal (Calibr Host and Author) for his input on how I should go about building .esms and .esps.

[Q] There are sure alot of conflicts between 20th century and other mods (MMM, GNC, FOOK, CRI, ect.). Whats the deal?
[A]-v1 is built as a single .esp file containing all additions and changes. This is a problem and will lead to mod conflicts. Other mod authors are as much to blame as myself, and it's because of changes to loot lists made in the .esps create conflict with one another.
-v1.1 will also be built as an .esp and will add 14 new weapons to the 18 already added (ETA apr 11, 2009)
-v2 will be built as an .esm containing all additions, with an .esp that will carry all the actual changes to the game (which is where there are conflicts). (no ETA)
--I could give a better explanation, but it was easier to just copy what I wrote in the comment box, and I'm still in the process of discovering the precise reason why this happens--
**Update April 04, 2009**
'Zeonic Glory' has discovered a way around 20cent's conflicts with MMM, FOOK, and possibly CRI by having '20th Century Weapons' at the BOTTOM of your load list.

[Q] Hey, some of your models don't 'fit' in the hands, are missing custom animations, and some of the models or textures are downright embarrassing. What do you have to say for yourself?
[A] This is a W.i.P. (Work in Progress) and alot of models aren't in their final versions. Some match up with the hands nicely, some are at the appropriate position to match up with the projectile node (so you're not shooting at an angle from the gun), and some other models are old Beta versions that I haven't had to time to replace with a better model. I'm doing the best I can with the limited resources and time I have so be patient, better models are coming, and better placement of those models is in the works.
-As for the animations: Folks, I specialize in models, not animations. There may be animations in future versions (after I actually learn how to animate a .nif), but I think it's pretty asinine to expect custom animations from a model specialist in the early stages of a very new, very large W.i.P. that is still having alot of raw material added to it.

[Q] Hey, I really want to see 'X' Scope with 'Y' Weapon using 'Z' silencer, can you be a pal and move the accessories around for me since the materials are already included anyway?
[A] ...I 'can' move any accessory onto any other weapon; I 'did' do this once (obviously), and I've already made 4 versions of every weapon (normal, silent, scoped, silentscope). If community response is clear and unanimous about certain features that need to change, that's one thing; But I don't want to make endless copies of the same weapon with a single different doo-dad. There'd be no end to the requests and I can't hope to please everyone.
-I sincerely hope that some genius modder creates a modular schematic system that can take a single .nif file, pack it with overlaying scope/silencer/magazine/stock/what-have-you with NiVisibilityControllers that will select that specific model set (scope, silencer, none, ect) when you activate the schematic script. Instead of tens or even hundreds of entries in the GECK, only 4 (probably 10 at the high end) entries would be needed for each weapon being used.
Maybe that gives someone out there something to think about?

Any chances on the XM-8 being a future addition? Also, does it disable the TGM code? I never play without TGM so if I have one bullet I have infinite of that ammo type and I can get ganked with no real problems from it. I'd ask on the nexus but I'm to lazy to find it there lol.

You have the best mod for this game .It is better than the official addons.I love it.You could put more weapons into play I think.When I play I never see any WW2 guns on an NPC except for thompson SMGs and pistols.Not sure if this is just a problem with me or how you made the mod.I'm still waiting to be shot at with an MG42 or an FG42.The MG42 could be a little scarier sounding.Also, the Gepard rifle should be more powerful, it is designed to kill lightly armored vehicles.
P.S. Also maybe make an entrance to a cell for the WWII part of the history museum with some goodies (:

Sorry for multi post, but this mod makes the game MUCH more interesting.It Completely overhauls combat in the game.In the Vanilla game there were only like 2 versions of each weapon, less with machine guns and rifles, but this mod also adds things Fallout 3 should have had all along, like automatic shotguns ,automatic rifles, lugers, and grenade launchers.In vanilla FO3 raiders would attack me with"assault rifles", and I would shoot them with my"assault Rifle",then take their .556 ammo.Now, raiders can ambush me with tommy guns, M-16s, and 40+ other guns, and I can shoot them with whatever I have ammo for.This mod makes you change weapons frequently, as different enemies with different weapons drop different ammo.It makes the game much more interesting, and the more I play it, the more I love it.If Fallout 3 is starting to bore you, GET THIS MOD! Oh yeah, it's better than all the Addons that cost money too, this is free.wink

i love this mod, but i have an issue, when i go to play any of the official dlc's, the game crashes, I'm pretty sure it has to do with this mod, any suggestions? answering ur question in advance, i do have other mods, the xm8 and the colt m4 sir, as well as the underground hideout and the arms dealer.

Some of the weapons have overpowered critical damage. Especially those using 5.56, 5.49, and 9mm Makarov rounds. I can kill a Super Mutant Brute with one Sneak attack shot to the torso with any sniper rifle (TPD-UA, Remington) using 5.56 ammo. Not good. Others' critical damage is underpowered (primarily those using .45 ACP and all types of 7.62 ammo). These are only a few examples. Better balancing in the mod is clearly needed. Is there going to be a new version any time soon?

I have a problem that makes my weapon skins look like whatever armour/clothing like the PPSh will have the same skin ( although it will keep its shape ) as chinese stealth armor if in wearing it i am kinda inexperienced with computers and i cant figure out why this occurs any help will be appreciated

I downloaded this mod but every time I play the game the guns are not showing. Can someone help?
