Wouldn't you think that after 200 or so years after the bombs fell the Earth would've been 'cleansed' and there would be less pollution from the humans (understandably, corpses don't worry about capitalism) and and Nature would get a chance to make a comeback

patrickpowns is technically right, though. Look at the Chernobyl incident. Trees and stuff are growing all over the condemned buildings years after the incident happened, so realistically, the Earth, I would think, would have actually been, at least, somewhat cured by now. Nature would've started growing where humanity once was.

However, I don't know, but it's probably my personal preference that the Wasteland actually looks like a godforsaken hellhole with no signs of life whatsoever, despite the huge nuclear holocaust being over 200 years before the game's events. Because, my interpretation of the series, everything just needs to be 'dead' 'dying' and 'harsh'. Hmm, however...this looks like a nice mod. Actually thinking about d/ling it sometime.

while I understand what your getting at, RevanJOM, you are.. somewhat incorrect. You see, after that incident the radiation was being cleared up by humans thus greatly decreasing recovory time, and we are talking about nuclear WAR. Humans have enough WMA's to destroy the earth 14 times, which is more than one nuclear blast... its thousands. While you are right, Nature would, at some point, find its way back, it would take some time.

Also, in the game there is continued fighting, that would add onto Nature being restricted by the creations of man. One last point i have to make, for those people that think that a nuclear explosion from an atom bomb today would have the same out come of the ones dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, you are far wrong. Todays doomsday weapons (Thermo-Nuclear & Hydrogen bomb) have probably 5x more effect than the ones on Nagasaki and Hiroshima
